After seeing the many ways one can be styled, I searched far and wide (two days and four thrift stores) for the right chambray top. I found this one in the men's section of a local Goodwill and it fits like I imagined it would; like a classic button-down. I try to avoid buying into trends and it seems that for over a year now people have been falling over themselves about chambray so for a long time I resisted, but at this point I'm convinced that it's a versatile classic. Here I am, jumping on the bandwagon. And liking it.
Speaking of following others, I saw this streetstyle photo a few weeks ago and recently pinned it for reference, and here it is in all its plagiarized glory. It's definitely an outfit for summer days- simple, bright, casual, not a Monday-to-Friday work look but great for Sundays at the laundromat.

Very cute! This top fits you absolutely perfect.
I have yet to jump on that bandwagon. I love love love the look, but decided that just because I love it on others doesn't mean I will love it on me...so instead I will just admire it on you and all the other ladies who make chambray look lovely!

Love your version of her look. And I hear you on chambray, I was reluctant and got one from Target that was the right fit and price. Now that I have it I wear it almost weekly but I am still glad I didn't pay an arm and a leg for the trend!
Love your look and who knew a laundry mat would be so good for taking photos.
I love the laundromat backdrop, these photos are great! I got my trusty chambrey top in the men's section of my local Goodwill almost 4 years ago and I've worn it almost weekly ever since. It's so comfortable and such a versatile layering piece, I love it trendy or not. I really enjoy your "copied" outfits as of late. It's fun to see your finished look beside your inspiration!
I have worn my chambray top so many times I cannot even count anymore! I love it paired with the yellow skirt. If I had a yellow skirt (or your awesome DIY skills to make one), I would have to plagiarize your plagiarism! Love the cool laundromat photos as well!
This is my favorite photo location ever! You look great! I steal looks all the time! Style is meant to be borrowed!
This is awesome and I love that you got your inspiration from street style. I think tying shirts up at the waist is adorable, except I have no waist...I'm a total rectangle so I never do it even though it such a cute trend.

this looks so lovely! I like the chambray with that yellow skirt. And while I don't actually own anything chambray I agree it's a classic.
And this photo location? brilliant!
Love that yellow skirt :) I really want to take outfit pictures at a laudry shop too now, haha ^^ x
I seriously need to start trying to knot some of my button-downs. I don't own any chambray myself, but I feel like it would wind up making me look like a washed out 70's songstress or something hah.
I just recently got a chambray shirt too! Maybe I will re-create this look - esp. the knot, which is so cute. And of course the yellow skirt is lovely.

I love your take on the chambray shirt--this is such a fun look! Not to mention an awesome photo shoot!
That is seriously one cute outfit!
Love the yellow skirt and I love that you made it. I wish I knew how to sew better so I could make cute skirts like these. Maybe one day I will take a class on how to use my sewing machine that just collects dust in the closet.
you have an UNCANNY ability to rework outfits! this sunny yellow is BRILLIANT on you - love the outfit location :) functional and fun!

That is super cute and summery. The skirt style is really interesting. Your sewing looks so professional!
Also, I am all about xxl men's button-downs from the thrift store. I wear them with leggings!
Love the look (yellow/blue awesome!) and the laundromat makes for an amazing backdrop! Such cool geometry with those open portholes and the column in the middle.
Hooray for laundromat photos! I LOVE shots in unusual places -- you look so editorial! And not to be harsh, but you clearly look a hundred times more chic and sexy than your inspiration shot. :)
