This is one of the outfits I put together while experimenting with patterns for the latest EBEW. I think the visual effect of the same-sized, same-spaced white dots on two contrasting background colors is
almost too intense but it works for me. I tried to keep the rest of the outfit classic and somewhat neutral with a basic black skirt and a pair of (super-comfortable) boys' oxfords I thrifted a few weeks ago. What do you think? Is this print pairing too much or just enough?

I almost thought that was one blouse, instead of pairing with two!YOu look lovely in it!
I like it. I also thought it was actually just one item, so clearly you're pulling it off awesomely. It looks great on you and totally isn't over the top.
Love it! I actually thought this was one top when I saw it because the dots are so similar!
I just thought this was an awesome blouse, but it's an awesome blouse AND an awesome shirt? I think they look perfect together.
SO, I feel a bit stalkery, but I am new to your blog and I just went back about a month and read every post and checked out every outfit you have posted. And even checked out some of your remixes of THOSE outfits. And wow!!! I like your style. And the fact that so much of the stuff that you wear is homemade kind of rocks my socks! I am not much into pattern mixing (as in not at all) because I just haven't been able to get there yet. I am trying and I am almost there...but MEH not quite. I DO have to admit that I did the double polka dots here, though!!

Personally I wouldn't wear this, but on you it looks fab! :)
Definitely not too much, I think going too far would be if the bottoms were also dotted in another color, then I would wonder if I had missed some sort of dot day costume contest or something. But you've got solid colors to tone the top down and I am a FAN.
Girl you could pull off a triple, nay quadruple dot if you wanted to. Wouldn't offend me any. I love that you had red and black backgrounds to your dots. And, as always, your oxfords are amazing!
I love, LOVE, your sense of style.
Love it :) Absolutely the right side of outfit genius vs outfit crazy ;)
I adore these shiny oxfords!
Oh heeeellll yes. I LOVE you in these patterns/colors. You took the best stuff from the playful, kitschy palettes from the late 60s-70s, and cleaned it up with the shiny oxfords and clean skirt. Love it.
Oh and I'm so giddy you're on Pinterest! And that you're not put off by my penchant for smexiness. The world needs more of that. And by "that," I mean stylish ladies who Pin awesome images, and who enjoy smexiness. You're a rare bird, Tiff.
This is such a cute outfit.
