I took the week off from blogging and outfit photos but these were taken last Saturday, the day after the flood*. My husband's company hosted a huge picnic and it was the first time I'd be meeting all the characters he works with so I put a lot of thought into my outfit; I wanted to represent him well. I asked Ben to pick out what he'd like to see me wear (barf, I know. So sappy, so sorry) and he chose this homemade dress. I added the diy jewelry- he's told some of his co-workers about my sewing hobby and blog so I had a reputation to uphold as a crafty and somewhat stylish wife. I don't know if that's the impression they got, but anyway I had a great time.
This dress is so easy to remix with primary colors; so far I've paired it with blue, green, red and yellow. One of my major remixing tips, although it seems pretty obvious, is to choose a print that contains three or four different colors. The opportunities to wear it throughout the year with colored tights, flats, cardigans and skirts will be endless.
*(I talk about The Flood like it was some epic experience... but it was, for me)

I really like how the yellow int he dress pops out when paired with the yellow cardigan. Looking at the other looks, I barely noticed there was even yellow in the dress. I think this is my favorite outfit with the dress yet!
You're so adorable. :"> I love the floral dress.

You know what they say, when life hands you lemons . . . Glad to hear that everything is better than normal for you now! What a mess! I, of course, love this dress and always are amazed at your sewing ability. I'm sure you were the bell of the picnic! Love all the bright fun colors!
You look fantastic in this outfit. Love the sunny yellow cardigan with the dress. I think this is probably my favourite remix of this dress yet.
Glad everything is okay now :) The stairs match so well with your outfit hehe x

Hooray! Glad you are all settled back at home. I love this dress of yours - it looks really great with the yellow cardi.
Oh my dear, I'm so glad not just that everything has worked out okay, but that you have a good, positive attitude. I would never wish anybody this kind of stress, but life is always preparing to eff your shit up, am I right? Your only chance of emotional survival is to have a good outlook. This is why sassy chicks always come out on top when life throws them curve balls.(heh, I said balls.)
I am glad you are back in your flat now :)
ooh this one is adorable! I love the combinations you create! so lovely!
