This is kind of a wintry look and it completely juxtaposes the previous outfit post but I dress for the weather and today it was grey and windy. I purchased these boots last week with money my sister gave me (we're calling it an early Christmas present) and I'm glad to finally have a proper pair of flat black boots. Those slouchy old Rocketdogs that I've been wearing for ages are falling apart and they're a bit smelly too, if I'm being completely honest. They served their purpose; they comfortably walked me through Europe and DC and Disney World and made numerous appearances on this blog over the last few years, but they lost their arch support long ago and
the rat chewed a hole in the toe so it's time to retire them (to the closet, not the curb). These replacements are leather (faux? I can't tell) so I hope they'll hold up for a few years longer than their suede predecessors. Even if they don't, they were free to me so if I get a year out of them I'll be happy. Thanks for the boots, Bec!

Just kidding. But not really. Those boots are awesome -- I am REALLY picky about flat boots, I think they often look strange and piratey. Not always though, clearly. Yours look polished and make your feet and legs look shapely.
